CUSTOM REAGENT DEVELOPMENT

Our professional staff has extensive experience and expertise in producing custom antibodies for use in research, clinical and commercial applications. From project initiation to completion our science and technical staffs have the experience and tools to help you.

Monoclonal Antibodies

Biocon’s monoclonal development program is divided into stages to provide you with optimal flexibility. Our standard service is outlined below. Please keep in mind it can be customized to fit your exact needs and progress from one stage to the next is always contingent upon your approval.

Stage I: (6—12 weeks)

Immunization of mice. Mouse or mice selected for cell fusion.

Stage II: (2—3 weeks)

Selected mouse or mice given a final antigen boost. Spleen cells/myeloma cell fusion. Fused cells are evaluated for antibody production.

Stage III: ( 3—4 weeks)

Hybridoma colonies secreting the antibody(ies) are expanded,
retested and cryopreserved. Hybridoma cultures are selected for cloning.

Stage IV: (2—6 weeks)

Clones are evaluated and then expanded cell lines are
cryopreserved.

Polyclonal Antibodies – multiple species

The standard protocol outlined below can be used with almost any antigen to maximize antibody production in terms of level and volume of serum.

Day Procedure

0 Pre-immunization bleed and immunogen inoculation
21 Immunogen boost
28 Standard bleed followed by immunoassay
42 Immunogen boost
49 Standard bleed followed by immunoassay
63 Immunogen boost
70 Standard bleed followed by immunoassay
